Here at Mastermix we’re always keen to hear your feedback on our mixes, be it good or bad, as long as it’s constructive! As Label Manager, one aspect of my job is to get out and about attending DJ meetings and exhibitions to raise awareness of what we’re doing, but more importantly to chat to our customers about the service we provide.
We’re also very proactive in using social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to interact with our members and seek out their opinions about what we’re doing. As well as these NKOTBs of social networking, our more traditional forums are also still very active at www.mastermixdj.com where DJs very often chat amongst themselves with occasional input from me!
Here at Mastermix we’re very aware that we’re producing an ‘elite’ product range for a dedicated audience, and whatever your chosen medium, we think it’s important that you can contribute to the future development of this.
Sometimes you even become the promoters of the product, by posting reviews of our mixes, which fellow DJs can take on board with the assurance that they’re honest evaluations and not marketing hype!
To demonstrate this point (not to blow our own trumpet, honest!) here are a few recent examples:
A Review of Grandmaster Party 12 taken from the MastermixDJ Forum:
“Hi everyone,
For a while folks have been saying there is only so many of this type of Party disc Mastermix can make….
Well!! The Grandmaster series in my view just seems to get better and better!! lol
For a start I was very happy that Journey – Don’t Stop Believin’ was at the start of the disc and is very popular at the moment. Hearing Geno as the second track is a classic!!! Totally intelligent tracklisting on this disc from Mastermix start to finish. and in my view certainly not just thrown together to make a few bucks!! TOP QUALITY.
There is about 5 different parts of this disc that you can really get your teeth into and mix into your own DJ set… The quality (tracklisting) of this Grandmaster really impressed me….It’s filling that gap with some outstanding tracks…
1. DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’ – Journey (nice 1)
2. GENO – Dexy’s Midnight Runners (outstanding idea)
3. ROCKS – Primal Scream (total classic for party)
4. SONG 2 – Blur
5. DISCO 2000 – Pulp
6. SPECIAL BREW – Bad Manners
7. GANGSTERS – Specials
8. BAGGY TROUSERS – Madness
9. TEENAGE KICKS – Undertones
10. COMMON PEOPLE – Pulp
Nice little DJ set in there !!!
11. SHE BANGS THE DRUMS – Stone Roses (nice)
12. VERTIGO – U2 (start of a DJ set here as well)
13. PARKLIFE – Blur
14. MR BRIGHTSIDE – Killers
15. SEX ON FIRE – Kings Of Leon
16. ALRIGHT – Supergrass
17. I FOUGHT THE LAW – Clash
18. TOM HARK – Piranhas
19. CHELSEA DAGGER – Fratellis
Nice break here !!!
20. LIP UP FATTY – Bad Manners
21. ONE STEP BEYOND – Madness
22. BASKET CASE – Green Day
23. GOING UNDERGROUND – Jam
24. BLITZKRIEG BOP – Ramones
25. HAPPY HOUR – Housemartins
Another little DJ set…And tracks DJs get asked for all the time!! Aah bliss!! Lovin’ Party 12
26. MY GENERATION – Who
27. TOWN CALLED MALICE – Jam
28. THIS CHARMING MAN – Smiths
29. LUST FOR LIFE – Iggy Pop
30. I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR
Overall I was taken aback at first with the tracklisting of the disc when it came through the letterbox!!
This rocky indie two tone 80s type disc certainly worth its price tag..A total surprise to me…
It fits the bill!!!! ”
Mix review taken from the Mastermix Digital Facebook Page:
“Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for 20 YEARS OF DANCE! Played it on Saturday night and everyone went mad. Believe it or not I was doing a belated Christmas/New Year party and they just loved it! 21 minutes of heaven!”
Response to our announcement of cutting the price of the monthly Issue to £18:
“This is amazing value for money, how can you do it?
I’ve been a Mastermix member since long before the days of the single disc and it’s cheaper now than it was back then.
History in the making…”
I’d just like to sign off by saying thank you to all our members for your feedback, be it good or ‘constructive’
and keeping in the spirit of this post, let us know what you’d like to hear about in our next Mastermix Blog! Post your thoughts on here, or on Facebook, or on Twitter, or on the Forum…
